Gallery 47 Premiere at Charity Golf EventJune 6, 2007 Advanced Systems Group, a Premire IBM business partner and technology solution company, hosted their Annual Golf Invitational for "The American Cancer Society" at Strawberry Farms golf course in memory of John Hale, Jr. It was a great success and raised $8,300 for the charity. It was a special day for our photographer too. We introduced and offered the first set of prints for sale from Gallery 47. There were 6 lots of 9 photos: Wide Arch, Kona Red, Market Stop, Hyde and Lombard, Zen Green, DCH Abstract I, DCH Abstract II, Mustard Hill, and Mustard Garden. The San Francisco photographs (Market Stop and Hyde & Lombard) received the most action and we received many favorable comments on all the prints. Get yours now. |

What is Gallery 47?A few years ago Jim was separated from his family by distance and decided to make some home made cards to send to them. "I had some unused high quality 8 x 10 printer paper wih a blank back. I folded them once to produce a 8"x5" card. Then selectied a one inch border making a 4"x7" print area. Thus a 47 print."
Jim made a bunch of cards, re-cropping some old and new photos. Liking the ratio so much it's a signature size and offered in 1, 2, and 3 multiples, 4"x7",8"x14" and 12"x21." |

Jim McCulloughPhotographer Biography Jim started taking pictures in 1969 with his mother's camera, posing friends on the front porch. In high school with borrowed cameras and rolls of film, he and a friend would travel all over the San Francisco bay area shooting then developing the prints in their darkroom. It was a great learning experience. Many years later, when his son was born, he bought his first real, professional quality SLR. That rekindled his relationship with the camera and it became an extension of his eye. After a few trips to Europe he was hooked, again. Travel photography became a passion. But you can't travel all the time and Jim is now exploring his local area, including his backyard, attempting to take unique and thoughtful photographs that demand reflection and ensue peace. |
